Billinudgel was first established over a hundred years ago when the north coast railway was first built. The town was even put forward as a possible national capital in the old days but thankfully Canberra got the nod. Billinudgel is famous for its historic hotel (which regularly gets flooded) as does a lot of town. There’s now a quite large industrial estate with many trades and professions represented. Billi Lids Day Care Centre and Humble Pies are notable establishments.
The Pocket is a rural valley carved by Marshall’s Creek with wide alluvial flats and steep hills running up to Mt Chincogan’s ridge line. Its very picturesque and offers a variety of property types from large farms to timbered retreats. There’s a primary school and “Pockets” rural retreat and restaurant. Middle Pocket is a branch of the valley running N.W to a dead end. The area is close to beaches and Ocean shores shopping centre.
